GROUP EXHIBITION “EARTH IS ART”
ANGEINO TOWER OF BITONTO (BARI)     4 – 25 August 2019

Every artist dips his brush into his soul

and paints his own nature in his pictures

 (Henry Ward Beecher)

The Michele Cea Foundation, in collaboration with the Nuovo Fior D'Olivi Local Action Group, organized the "Terra è Arte" event as a vehicle to promote artists, both young and old, who share the same goals of sharing and free, sincere expression. The theme of Rurality intersected with the sense of belonging to the land of one's origins. A testimony of identity, a journey through the places of existence in contact with Mother Nature. The relationship between humanity and the environment is defined by a feeling of respect, care, gratitude, and love. The exhibition presented works in which the artists captured the meeting point between humanity and creation. Another seed fell on good soil and bore fruit: a give and take, highlighting the bond of cooperation with the land. Art thus became a means to share a bucolic message, reminiscent of ancient Latin odes, delving into the essence of each person so that the sown seed may flourish.

The entire event also included presentations of Nicola De Matteo 's books " Il bacio della murena " and Agostino Picicco 's " Communicare è condivisione " ( Communicating is Sharing ), as well as a guided listening session of Giuseppe Verdi's  opera " Rigoletto ." These were beautiful moments in which the sharing of different forms of art flourished through words and music.

A heartfelt thanks goes to Antonio Saracino, president of the Gal Nuovofiord'Olivi, without whom all this would not have been possible.
